ACS Wins Walker Curling Club League Playoff

First year club members ACS skipped by Darin Kowalke took the overall 2011 - 2012 curling league championship last Saturday by defeating the defending champion Shores of Leech. ACS earned the over all championship by knocking out the Hammers, Coots, Clean Sweeps and First National in early rounds.

The Second event consolation had the Baker-Blatt rink defeating the Rockerz. Advancing by winning three draws in the final day were the Kabekona Curlers. They defeated the Throwing Stone rink skipped by Pete Rogers to emerge as the third event winners.

Twenty teams participated in the curling league this year. The club plans to grow to twenty-four for the 2012 - 2013 season. The curling club thanks the on-ice ad sponsors: Benson’s, Lucky Moose, Outdoorsman, Village Square, Walker Legion, Boulders, Leech Lake Brewing and Café Zona Rosa for supporting the sport this year. Special thanks also to Keaton Pedersen, Curt Geiger and Kurt Paulson for rink preparation for the entire season.

Curling will be back next November stronger than ever.

SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR!
